Two NU Women's Swimmers Among World's Elite

EVANSTON, Ill. - Three Northwestern swimmers find themselves ranked within the top 50 of the latest World Long Course Rankings.

On the women's side, junior Courtney Allen (Monument, Colo./Air Academy) earned a No. 33 ranking in the 50 freestyle event with a time of 26.02. She is 50th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.89. Fellow classmate Amy Balcerzak (Sharon, Pa./The Peddie School) is ranked 16th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.08. She picked up a No. 25 ranking in the 50 breaststroke with her time of 33.11.

Senior Brian Walters (Wyndmoor, Pa./William Penn Charter) was the only male swimmer ranked among the top 50 for Northwestern. He picked up a No. 30 ranking in the 200 backstroke with his time of 2:02.02.
