EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern hosted the Illinois Junior Olympic Championships Sunday, Nov. 22. The Wildcats did not qualify any more women for the USFA Junior Olympics (available only to fencers under the age of 20), to be held in Chattanooga, Tenn., Feb. 12-15.

Sophomore Alison Kline (Detroit, Mich./Mercy), fourth out of six in the under 20 womens epe, and freshman Sarah Solomon (South Orange, N.J./Columbia), sixth out of ten in the under 20 womens foil, were the teams highest finishers.

Northwestern already has four fencers who have automatically qualified for Februarys meet, a school high. They include sophomore Carly Wells (Arlington, Heights, Ill./John Hersey) in the sabre, freshman Jennifer Greenebaum (Mendham, N.J./Pingrey School) in the epe and freshmen Kristen Dorf (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) and Maggie Kebrdle (South Bend, Ind./St. Joseph's) in the foil.
