Men's Soccer Wins Season Opener

MILWAUKEE - Northwestern got it's season started with an impressive 3-2 win at UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday.
UWM started out with a penalty kick by Blake Bostwick at the 25:17 mark. Minutes later, NU answered when Brandon Swalve crossed the ball in front of the goal and the ball bounced off a UWM defender for an own goal. As the half continued, UWMs Tony Colvin scored with a crossing pass from Bostwick.
In the second half, playing a man down, NU rallied and tied the game on a goal by Jon Cantwell. In the 82nd minute, David Mooradian scored the winning goal with an assist by Frank Lawson.
The Wildcats improve to 1-0 while UWM falls to 0-1. Northwestern's next matches are Sept. 5-6 at the Quality Suites Classic in East Lansing, Mich.
