Heather Moles and Brenda Lear Named Assistant Field Hockey Coaches

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head field hockey coach Diane Loosbrock today announced the hiring of Heather Moles and Brenda Lear as assistant coaches for the Wildcats.
"Heather and Brenda bring a lot of experience to our program," said head coach Diane Loosbrock. "They both have coached at successful programs and possess a great deal of enthusiasm and energy. Their knowledge and experience will, without question, help build the Northwestern field hockey program for the future."
Moles comes to NU from Stanford, where she has served as goalkeeper coach since 1996. She also has been active in the USFHA's developmental programs, coaching at the 1998 high school and collegiate Supercamps as well as serving as goalkeeper for the 1998 U.S. women's A camp. Moles played four years at Duke, earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 1992 and All-America accolades in 1993. The 1996 graduate of Duke earned a B.S. in psychology, a B.A. in biological anthropology and anatomy as well as a certificate in primatology.
Lear spent the past two years as assistant field hockey coach and head lacrosse coach at the University of the Pacific. She also spent a year as assistant field hockey coach at Princeton, where she helped direct the Tigers to a spot in the 1996 NCAA Championship game. Lear played field hockey and lacrosse at Delaware from 1991-95. She was a two-time All-American and a member of the U.S. under-21 national team. She also earned a tryout for the U.S. elite lacrosse squad in 1994. Lear earned her B.S. in physical education from Delaware in 1996 and received her master's degree in sport science from Pacific in 1998.
