Balcerzak Earns Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior Amy Balcerzak (Sharon, Pa./The Peddie School) has been named Big Ten Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Balcerzak led the Wildcats to conference victories over Minnesota and Purdue, setting four pool records in the process. On Friday, Balcerzak set a pair of Norris Aquatic Center records en route to winning both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. At Purdue on Saturday, Balcerzak shattered the Lambert Pool records in both breaststroke events, helping the Wildcats defeat the Boilermakers and move into a tie for first-place in the Big Ten.

The 12th-ranked Wildcats return to action on Saturday against Penn State in State College, Pa.
