12th-Ranked Women Swimmers Cruise Past Penn State

EVANSTON, Ill. - The 12th-ranked Northwestern womens swimming and diving team (6-2, 5-1 Big Ten) wrapped up the conference season by winning their third consecutive meet, 167-133, over Penn State.

The trio of junior Amy Balcerzak, classmate Courtney Allen and sophomore Tashy Bohm again paced the Wildcats. Balcerzak (100 and 200 breaststroke) and Allen (50 and 100 freestyle) each swept their events for the third consecutive meet. Bohm won the 200 backstroke in a season-best 2:01.47 and also added a victory in the 100 backstroke.

Northwestern returns to action Feb. 5, for their final home meet of the season against Northern Illinois at 4 p.m.
