Jessica Yates Named West Region All-American

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern field hockey goalie Jessica Yates (Lake Forest Ill./Lake Forest) was named to the 1999 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division I West Region All-American second team. Yates finished the year leading the Big Ten conference in saves with 148, including 77 in conference games. She had a 2.93 goals-against average and a .771 save percentage.

During the summer, Yates was a member of the U.S. National Under-23 Team, and she is receiving second team regional All-America honors for the second straight year. Yates' save total for the season was fourth on the Northwestern list, and she also moved up to fourth on the all-time saves chart with 382. Yates has one season remaining.

Yates received second team All-Big Ten honors along with teammate Amy Haase (Carmel, Ind./Carmel).
