EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University has named its Athletes of the Week for October 4.
MALE - DWAYNE MISSOURI, FOOTBALL
Senior defensive end Dwayne Missouri (San Antonio, Texas/Roosevelt) had another solid outing for the Northwestern defense in Saturday's game with Minnesota. Missouri recorded two tackles-for-loss against the Gophers, the 10th consecutive game in which he has recorded a TFL. He also recorded a sack, running his season total to six which places him third in the Big Ten. Missouri's 12 TFL's have him tied for second in the conference.
FEMALE - AMY HAASE, FIELD HOCKEY
Senior Amy Haase (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) led the Wildcats to a 1-1 record over the weekend. NU fell to No. 4 Iowa, 2-1, on Friday but rebounded with a come-from-behind, 3-2 win over Southwest Missouri State Sunday afternoon. Against Iowa, Haase fed Colleen Hotz to help the Wildcats score their only goal of the game. She then scored two goals, including the gamewinner, and assisted on the third goal in the win over the Lady Bears. Haase currently leads the Wildcats with 18 points (6g, 6a).
