Jay Udwadia Named Assistant Coach for Men's Tennis

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University men's tennis coach Paul Torricelli recently announced Jay Udwadia as his new assistant tennis coach. Udwadia joins the staff in time for the 1999-2000 fall season.

"I am thrilled to have Jay join our staff," Coach Torricelli said. "He has an outstanding playing background both as a ranked junior and collegiate player. He will be a tremendous asset to our program."

The 24-year-old Udwadia is originally from Buffalo, New York. He competed on the men's tennis team for four years at the University of Arkansas, graduating in 1997. He instructed for one year at the Buffalo Tennis Club prior to joining the pro tour, where he was 842nd in the World in doubles.

"I'm excited to be working with Paul," Udwadia said. "He's a well-respected coach around the collegiate tennis world."
