Zach Wingrove

Zach Wingrove joined the Northwestern athletic communications staff in September 2019. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Athletic Communications & Strategic Initiatives and is the primary contact for the football and softball programs.
During his time at Northwestern, Wingrove has served as the media relations contact for a number of programs: including football, men’s and women’s basketball, softball, field hockey, wrestling, and volleyball. He was the primary communications contact for Northwestern Field Hockey during its first national championship in 2021, and Northwestern Wrestling during the 2022 NCAA Championships that saw an individual national title for Ryan Deakin and a Top-10 team finish.
Wingrove has worked directly with the football program since 2022, including during bowl victories in 2023 and 2025. In addition, he has worked with the softball program since 2019, covering Northwestern winning three-consecutive Big Ten championships from 2022-24 and making an appearance in the 2022 Women's College World Series.
Prior to his current role, Wingrove spent four years working with Northwestern Athletics as an undergraduate student in both the communications and broadcast operations departments. His work experience also includes roles with West Michigan’s NBC affiliate (WOOD TV8), NBC Sports during the 2018 Winter Olympics, the Houston Texans as a training camp communications intern in Summer 2019, and the Chicago Cubs as a media relations associate during the 2018 season.
The Grand Rapids, Mich. native graduated from Northwestern with a Bachelor’s of Science in journalism (’19) and a master’s degree in sport administration (’21).
