Eric Winchester is a senior technology consultant with 15+ years of experience delivering IT and AV solutions in high-stakes environments. For over a decade, he has served Northwestern University Athletics and Recreation, supporting 300+ staff, 19 varsity sports, and 18 facilities.
At Northwestern, he provides 24/7 technical support and leads projects ranging from AV systems and digital signage to biometric security, EMR platforms, network infrastructure, and major facility transitions. His leadership was critical in integrating Sports Medicine operations into the Northwestern Medicine system, implementing Teamworks Smartabase (the department’s EMR), and managing the migration of 150 staff and 1,000+ devices into the 600,000 sq. ft. Walter Athletics Center.
Winchester also develops custom AV and performance solutions, oversees 60+ digital signage endpoints, and ensures seamless technology for live events, coaching, and administration. Additionally, he has coordinated the installation of and actively manages various sports simulator technologies. Known for his calm, collaborative approach, he has driven cost-saving strategies preserving hundreds of thousands of dollars in resources.
Earlier in his career, Winchester worked in ophthalmology and healthcare IT, supporting both clinical operations and research. He holds a B.A. in Health Science/Pre-Medicine from the University of Iowa after completing his first two years of undergraduate study at Pepperdine University. His technical expertise spans Active Directory, Microsoft 365, JAMF, MECM, Teamworks, Smartabase, EMR/PACS imaging, BrightSign, Coriographer, IDEMIA products, and much more.
A former collegiate club lacrosse midfielder, Winchester brings firsthand knowledge of athletics to his role, strengthening trust with coaches and staff.
Winchester lives in Highwood with his wife Kristi and their two children.
