Elise Cirone joined Northwestern in 2016. She is a rehabilitation coordinator for Olympic sports student athletes, focusing primarily on post-operative rehabilitation and return to sport. From 2016-2021, she was responsible for managing the healthcare of the women's fencing team in addition to her rehabilitation coordinator role.

Cirone is a graduate of University of Miami (FL) where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Athletic Training). She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. Prior to joining Northwestern, Cirone worked as a physical therapist in a local outpatient physical therapy clinic. She served as Sports Medicine Special Interest Group leader for the region’s clinics and worked closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, nurse practitioners and physicians on the development and implementation of post-concussion return to play protocol for multiple clinics.

Her professional interests include post-operative rehabilitation, return to sport, and mental health and wellness surrounding long-term injuries. Cirone is a board certified clinical specialist in sports physical therapy, and holds certifications in dry needling.

Cirone resides in the northwest suburbs with her husband, two children, and bernedoodle. She enjoys reading, traveling, dining out, and spending time with her family.
