Ivy Abiona begins her sixth season as Director of Player Development with the Northwestern University women's basketball program in 2025-26. Prior to joining the Wildcats, Abiona served Program Director at Manhattan Youth and the Children's Academy at Long Island University.
A native of Cherry Hill, N.J., Abiona enjoyed a successful playing career at The George Washington University under current Wildcats' head coach Joe McKeown. During her time with the Revolutionaries, Abiona helped the team to a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference regular season titles and back-to-back trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. A three-year team captain, Abiona also excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 Conference's Student-Athlete Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Following her collegiate playing career, Abiona spent four years playing abroad in Australia, Finland, Spain, and Peru.
A double alumnus of The George Washington University, Abiona earned her bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing in 2010 ahead of securing her master's degree in Public Health in 2012.
