Lauren Dillon
- Title:
- Associate Head Coach
Lauren Dillon begins her first season as Associate Head Coach with the Northwester University women's basketball program in 2026-27. Dillon joined the ‘Cats after spending the past seven years on head coach Carla Berube’s staff at Princeton University.
“I’m really excited to welcome Lauren to our staff as Associate Head Coach,” Berube said. “Having worked together at Princeton, I’ve seen firsthand how she pushes players to be their best every single day. Lauren is an exceptional teacher of the game who combines preparation, energy, and toughness, and she holds our student-athletes to the high standards it takes to compete at the Big Ten level.”
“Stepping into the role of Associate Head Coach for Northwestern Women’s Basketball is such an incredible honor,” Dillon commented. “I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to grow, lead, and compete alongside Coach Berube and this special group in one of the best conferences in the country. I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready to get to work!”
Working alongside Berube throughout her Princeton tenure, Dillon was part of a coaching staff that guided the Tigers to six straight seasons of 20-plus wins, racking up 147 victories and a sparkling .835 winning percentage en route to winning five Ivy League titles. Princeton made five trips to the NCAA Tournament, winning First Round games in both 2022 and 2023.
During her time in the Garden State, Dillon played a vital role in the recruitment and development of 21 All-Ivy League honorees, a selection of student-athletes that included two All-Americans, three Ivy League Players of the Year, three Ivy League Defensive Players of the Year, an Ivy League Rookie of the Year, and three WNBA Draft selections.
Dillon arrived at Princeton following a standout playing career for Berube at Tufts University, where she also served as an assistant coach for one season following graduation. A two-year team captain, Dillon helped lead the Jumbos to a pair of appearances in the NCAA Division III National Championship game and ranks as the program’s career leader in assists (481) and steals (266).
Across her four-year playing career, Dillon started in 117 of 128 games for Berube as Tufts finished 114-15 (.884). She was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore ahead of earning First Team All-NESCAC honors during her senior year.
“Lauren’s ability to develop players, build relationships, and bring relentless competitiveness will be a huge asset to our team,” Berube concluded. “I’m confident she’ll push our program to compete every night, challenge anyone who steps on the court with us, and help Northwestern battle for Big Ten championships!”
Dillon received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications & Media Studies from Tufts in 2018 before completing her master’s in Child Study and Human Development in 2021.
