Matt Lemanowicz joined Northwestern Athletics in March 2020 as an Assistant Director of Olympic Sports Performance. He is responsible for the year-round physical development of baseball, women’s soccer and wrestling programs.
Lemanowicz came to Evanston from Boise State University, where he was an Associate Director of Sports Performance and oversaw training for the baseball, gymnastics, swimming and diving, and track and field programs.
Prior to arriving at Boise State, Lemanowicz spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic performance coach at his alma mater, the University of Missouri. He worked directly with the Tiger baseball and swimming and diving programs, while assisting with the football team and 12 Olympic sport programs. He also served as a Nutrition and Exercise Physiology teaching assistant, where he conducted lectures on cardiovascular disease and activity for young adults for undergraduate students, and led an exercise physiology lab by facilitating discussion and ensuring safety during experiments, among other duties.
Lemanowicz, a four-year letter winner on the University of Missouri wrestling team, earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Mathematics and Nutritional Sciences in 2016. He received his Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Missouri in December 2017. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.
