Northwestern Baseball is adding Adrian Santiago to its coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2023 season, head coach Jim Foster announced in October.
"It's my pleasure to be able to welcome assistant coach Adrian Santiago to the Northwestern Baseball family as another great addition to our coaching staff. Adrian will add a lot from a player development standpoint, mainly working with the defense. Even more importantly, his work ethic, character, and the example he will set for our players will have a great impact on our team and its success."
A Chicago native, Santiago's resume includes two seasons as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at his alma mater, Webster University, and a stint as a Graduate Assistant at Quincy (Ill.) University.
Santiago also spent the 2021 summer as a head coach in the Premiere Collegiate Developmental League that is played at GCS Ballpark and is hosted by P3 Pitching Performance.
As a player at Webster University, Santiago was named All-Region and All-SLIAC after posting a 2.29 ERA in 55.0 innings as a senior in 2019.
Prior to Webster, Santiago pitched two years at Oakton Community College, where he was a two-time NJCAA Academic All-American.
