Report a Hazing Concern
As a University, Northwestern takes the safety, security, and comfort of everyone in our community very seriously. If you have questions about what could be hazing or would like to discuss tradition/practices or need assistance in improving the effectiveness of your organization’s new member orientation process, please contact the Office of Campus Life at hazingprevention@northwestern.edu.

If you have a concern about the wellbeing or behavior of a Northwestern student or if you have experienced a concern for which a Northwestern student is responsible, please let us know.
- Share a General Concern about Student or a Student’s Conduct: Please use this report if you have a general concern about the wellbeing of a Northwestern student or are concerned that a student's behavior may violate a Uniersity policy:
- Report Sexual Misconduct, Stalking, or Dating or Domestic Violence: Please use this report if you or someone you know has experiences a concern related to sexual misconduct, stalking, or dating or domestic violence and the person responsible is a Northwestern student. If the person responsible is a Northwestern faculty or staff member or third party please contact the University’s Title IX Coordinator.
- Share a Concern Related to Hate or Bias: Please use this form in you or someone you know has been the target of, or witness to, a hate or bias incident.
Confidential Resources: Students
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): CAPS serves as the primary mental health service at Northwestern University with offices on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses. CAPS provides a set of core services, including clinical services, educational workshops, and consultation with faculty, staff, and parents.
- TimelyCare Services: is in addition to Northwestern’s existing confidential services, and gives you access to a number of virtual well-being resources, including: scheduled counseling, TalkNow, Health Coaching, and Group Sessions.

- Center for Awareness Response and Education (CARE): CARE is a confidential space for students impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence or stalking, including friends or partners of survivors.

- Ombudsperson: Northwestern's ombudsperson can play a key role in resolving concerns and working through issues. She provides confidential and informal assistance for resolving university-related concerns, is independent of the university's formal administrative structure, and considers all sides of an issue in an impartial manner.
PURPOSE: Listen. ~ Provide information that relates to your situation. ~ Suggest options available to you. ~ Mediate. ~ Facilitate difficult conversations. Help you find a path forward. ~ Help you understand policies and procedures that apply to you.

- In Crisis-Consultation with a Chaplin: University chaplains and campus ministers are trained religious professionals on campus to serve the needs of students, faculty, and staff of any or no religious affiliation. All conversations are held in confidence. The chaplains are equipped with training and experience in counseling. They can also refer to appropriate psychological or psychiatric resources if necessary.
