John C. Rudnay (Football, 1966-68)

One of those rare football linemen who possessed both speed and quickness, Rudnay starred and lettered at center and defensive tackle for the Wildcats from 1966-68. Rudnay also spent time on the wrestling team at Northwestern. On the gridiron, he was named first-team All-Big Ten his senior season. That year, he was also selected o play in Chicago's College All-Star Game, San Francisco's East-West Shrine Game, Honolulu's Hula Bowl, and the Coaches All-Star Game in Lubbock, Texas.

In the spring of 1969, he was drafted in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Although he missed his rookie season of 1969-70 due to injury, Kansas City won Super Bowl IV that year. Rudnay spent the next 12 seasons at center for the Chiefs, including playing in 144 consecutive contests. He was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1994.
