Frank Hill (Track Coach, 1921-52)

Hill, a native Chicagoan, was recognized as one of the nation's leading track coaches of his time. He came to Northwestern after serving as the track and field coach at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. He tutored numerous Big Ten and NCAA champions while at Northwestern, including Bill Porter and Jim Golliday, both 1984 Northwestern University Hall of Fame inductees, and Annette Rogers Kelly, a 1985 inductee.

Hill directed the famed Chicago Daily News Relays for 16 years and was elected to the Helms Track and Field Hall of Fame.
