Alfred E. "Alf" Bauman (Football, 1939-42)

"Alf" Bauman starred at tackle for the 1939, '40 and '41 Wildcat football teams. He was the team's Most Valuable Player in 1941, leading the Wildcats to a 5-3 mark, just one year after NU had finished with a fine 6-2 record.

He participated in both the East-West Shrine Game and the College All-Star Game following his graduation in 1942. He joined the U.S. Army that year, then went on to play professionally for the Chicago Rockets (1947), Philadelphia Eagles (1947) and Chicago Bears (1948-50).
