James P. Andreotti (Football, 1957-59)

Andreotti lettered from 1957-59 at center. He was known as an ironman performer in his three years having played both sides of the ball (center and defensive line) averaging 50 minutes of playing time per game.

In 1958, Jim was the first junior classman to be named co-captain of the squad, helping lead the team to a 6-3 record, best at that time in the decade. The following year Jim earned honors as an All-American, first-team All-Big Ten and as Northwestern's Most Valuable Player.

Jim participated in the 1960 East-West Shrine game and in the 1960 Hula Bowl. He was drafted in 1960 by the Detroit Lions and played professionally for the Toronto Argonauts (1960-67, 1967) and Montreal Alouettes (1963-66).
