EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern women's tennis got a final tune-up ahead of dual season this weekend with three days of singles and doubles action at the Wildcat Duals inside Combe Tennis Center. Visiting teams Northern Illinois and DePaul faced off with each other as well as the hosting Wildcats as all three programs prepared for the start of dual season.

The 'Cats excelled in the event, going undefeated in singles action across Friday and Saturday matches. Of their 14 individual victories, 12 came in straight sets, including a pair of perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins for Autumn Rabjohns and Mika Dagan Fruchtman on Friday evening.

In doubles action, Northwestern also came away with a winning record. After winning five of their seven doubles match-ups on Friday, the 'Cats came back to win seven of eight on Saturday and six of eight on Sunday. Neena Feldman finished off a flawless weekend, combining with Dagan Fruchtman, Margot Phanthala and Marelie Raath at points en route to a perfect 6-0 doubles record. The ranked pairing of Feldman and Dagan Fruchtman, who enter dual season at No. 48 nationally according to the ITA, picked up three wins on the weekend.

For first-years Phanthala and Raath, the event provided a first taste of home competition in Combe. Raath picked up a pair of singles wins in straight sets in her Evanston debut, finishing the weekend with a combined 7-1 record across singles and doubles action. Phanthala, ranked No. 39 nationally in singles play, played to a 6-1 record over the three-day competition.

As a group, Northwestern combined for a 14-0 performance in singles play and a 18-5 record in doubles action.

With the Wildcat Duals behind them, Head Coach Claire Pollard's squad will gear up for their dual season opener next Friday morning, January 16, at VCU. The 'Cats will visit the Bulldogs at 9 a.m. CT in the first of three weekend matches in Richmond.
