Northwestern set for 15th consecutive regional appearance
EVANSTON, Ill. (April 23, 2025) – Currently ranked 12th nationally, the Northwestern University Women's Golf team will compete at the NCAA Norman Regional May 5-7, it was announced on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be the No. 2 seed at the University of Oklahoma's Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
Head coach Emily Fletcher and assistant coach Beth Miller are set to pilot Northwestern to a 15th straight NCAA Regional, a streak that dates back to the duo's second year in charge in the 2009-10 season. The 'Cats have advanced past the regional stage nine times during Fletcher and Miller's tenure, most recently placing fourth at last season's East Lansing Regional to secure their spot at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships.
The Wildcats closed the regular season with a second place finish and a three-peat victory at the PING/ASU Invitational and Silverado Shootout, respectively, ahead of a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships.
On the individual front, Dianna Lee earned her first career victory at the PING/ASU Invitational and Lauryn Nguyen convincingly captured her second career collegiate victory at the Silverado Showdown. This past weekend at the Big Ten Championships, first-year Hsin Tai Lin stayed towards the top of the leaderboard throughout the event, eventually finishing tied for fifth.
The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site will advance to play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, May 16-21, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
