Both members of duo named Honorable Mention selections by the media

EVANSTON, Ill. (March 4, 2025) – Northwestern graduate student forward Taylor Williams (New Baltimore, Mich./Dakota/Michigan) and junior guard Caroline Lau (Westport, Conn./St. Luke's School) have both been tabbed Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the conference media, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

In her lone season as a Wildcat, Williams enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, averaging 11.7 points and 9.4 rebounds across 26 appearances, all of which came in a starting role.  During Big Ten Conference play, Williams upped her scoring average to 12.3 points per contest, while operating at a 48-percent clip from the field.

Out of New Baltimore, Mich., Williams scored in double figures 16 times and had 15 games with 10 or more rebounds.  The 6-foot-2 forward posted 11 double-doubles, a total which saw her rank sixth amongst her league counterparts.

Williams raised her game to another level during the season's homestretch, averaging 14.0 points and 9.6 rebounds across the Wildcats' last eight games.  In Northwestern's matchup with Maryland on February 20, Williams surpassed 1,000 rebounds for her collegiate career.

Lau, who started in 25 of her 27 appearances, closed the regular season as the Big Ten's leader in assists, averaging 6.0 helpers per game, a mark that currently ranks 12th nationally.  Lau is the first Wildcat to lead the Big Ten in the category since Ashley Deary accomplished the feat during the 2016-17 season.

A native of Westport, Conn., Lau had seven-plus assists in 13 games this past season, putting up double-digit assists on four occasions.  Northwestern went 5-2 in games in which the 5-foot-9 guard dished out at least eight assists.

Lau enters her senior campaign ranked 10th all-time in Wildcat annals with 407 career assists to her name.

In addition to the release of the All-Big Ten teams, the conference also announced its 18 Sportsmanship Award recipients, with junior forward Lauren Trumpy (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) taking home the honor for the 'Cats.
