Senior finishes with 30 points to pace Northwestern
SEATTLE, Wash. (December 29, 2025) – Making her return to the Wildcat lineup, Grace Sullivan poured in 30 points to lead Northwestern (6-7, 0-2 B1G) in a 94-73 defeat at Washington (11-2, 1-1 B1G) this evening inside Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash.
How It Happened
After a Tayla Thomas bucket got the 'Cats on the board just over two minutes in, Sullivan finished off a nifty find by Caroline Lau to trim Washington's lead to 6-4. In what would develop into a theme for the evening, the Huskies were red-hot from beyond the three-point arc, connecting on five threes in the opening frame. Northwestern looked to counter with a surge of its own from distance, with Xamiya Walton and Casey Harter each hitting from outside as the 'Cats closed within six at the end of the first quarter, 24-18.
Sullivan connected on a turnaround jumper in the paint at the 6:24 mark of the second quarter as Northwestern continued to hang tough, 28-20. A Tate Lash layup cut the margin to nine, 31-22, but Washington continued to operate at a torrid clip from distance, knocking down five triples across the final 5:06 of the first half to race into the locker room with a 46-33 lead.
Northwestern would struggle to make a dent in Washington's advantage during the second half, getting no closer than 13 across the final 20 minutes, as the Huskies remained perfect on their home floor in 2025-26.
