SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Northwestern women's tennis wrapped up its fall season with a strong showing at the Notre Dame Invite over the weekend, picking up 24 total victories between singles and doubles action. Seven Wildcats competed in the three-day competition against foes from Iowa, Holy Cross, Princeton and the hosts, Notre Dame.

The 'Cats opened the weekend with a full schedule of singles and doubles matches on Friday, primarily against the hosting Irish. Mika Dagan Fruchtman and Autumn Rabjohns opened with a 6-3 victory over their foes from Notre Dame in doubles play, then five Wildcats won matches in singles action. First-years Margot Phanthala and Marelie Raath both won victories in addition to Maia Loureiro, Erica Jessel and Katya Shepherd Johnson.

On Saturday, Northwestern was even more dominant as the 'Cats took on a mix of opponents. Raath and Jessel rolled to a 6-2 victory over Iowa's Pia Kranholdt and Emma Tothová, while Loureiro and Rabjohns defeated a duo from Holy Cross by a final score of 6-1. In the singles portion of the day, five Northwestern players again came out victorious. Of the victories, four came in straight sets: Phanthala (6-3, 6-3), Raath (7-5, 6-2), Rabjohns (6-4, 6-2) and Jessel (6-3, 6-3).

Northwestern continued its success into Sunday, when the 'Cats once again picked up wins in the majority of their matches, this time against Princeton. Phanthala, Loureiro, Raath and Dagan Fruchtman all put singles victories in the books, then two of Northwestern's three doubles duos added on to the win total as well. Phanthala and Loureiro teamed up to win 6-3, while Dagan Fruchtman and Rabjohns reunited for a 6-2 victory.

Three Wildcats concluded the weekend with perfect 3-0 records in singles play: Phanthala, Loureiro and Raath. For Phanthala, it brought her to a 6-2 singles record for the fall, which included a top-ten victory against Piper Charney in October. In her first fall of collegiate action, Raath also impressed, finishing 7-3 in singles and 6-4 in doubles.

Rabjohns' 3-0 doubles performance in South Bend gave her a 4-1 fall in doubles, with her only loss coming in the round of 32 at the ITA Midwest Regional.

With fall play behind them, the 'Cats will look to the winter dual season, which will begin in January. The slate will be highlighted by the ITA National Indoor Team Championships, which Northwestern will host for the second straight season. Northwestern's full 2026 schedule will be released at a later date.
