Northwestern Women’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule

‘Cats to matchup against five postseason participants from last season
EVANSTON, Ill. (July 29, 2024) – Clashes with five postseason qualifiers from a year ago and meetings with a pair of local rivals headline the 2024-25 Northwestern women's basketball non-conference schedule, which was announced on Monday by Wildcats' head coach Joe McKeown. The 'Cats are slated to host eight home non-conference contests within the friendly confines of Welsh-Ryan Arena.
After entertaining UW-Parkside (Nov. 3) in an exhibition tilt, Northwestern officially lifts the lid on the 2024-25 campaign on November 6, hosting in-state foe Illinois State, which is coming off back-to-back 20-plus win seasons, to begin a season-opening four-game homestand. After battling Lehigh (Nov. 10), the 'Cats welcome 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Utah to Welsh-Ryan Arena on November 14 ahead of matching up with Harvard (Nov. 23) just over a week later.
Northwestern's lone true road game of November will see it make the short trip south down Sheridan Road to take on Loyola Chicago on November 26. McKeown's crew begins December by returning to Welsh-Ryan Arena to battle Cornell (Dec. 1). Another local foe lays in wait following the Wildcats' meeting with the Big Red, as DePaul treks north on December 4. The homestand closes with visits from Bradley (Dec. 15) and three-time defending Mountain West Conference champion UNLV (Dec. 18).
Prior to the holidays, the 'Cats jet east for the Hawk Classic in Philadelphia, Pa. Northwestern opens tournament play against Charleston on December 20 ahead of a matchup with either host St. Joseph's or Howard on December 21.
Set to begin his 17th season at the head of the Wildcat bench, McKeown welcomes back eight letterwinners from last season, a group that includes three starters in Melannie Daley, Caileigh Walsh, and Caroline Lau.
Fans can secure their seat inside Welsh-Ryan Arena for the upcoming 2024-25 season by placing a $25 deposit for season tickets. A member of the Northwestern Ticket Office will be in contact once tickets are available for purchase.
