Northwestern Cross Country Announces 2024 Schedule

‘Cats to compete in five regular season meets ahead of postseason action
EVANSTON, Ill. (June 11, 2024) – Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Jill Miller, the Northwestern University cross country program unveiled its schedule for the 2024 season on Tuesday. The Wildcats' five-meet regular season slate will see them compete at courses set to host conference, regional, and national championships before beginning postseason competition in November.
"It is an exciting year for our local fans and supporters because all of our meets, including championship season, are within three-hours of campus," Miller commented. "The only course we lack experience on is the Big Ten Championship course at Illinois, so we are excited to preview that in early September. We will test ourselves two weeks later at the Nuttycombe Invitational, which has historically been the most competitive regular season meet in the country. Our goal is for the regular season schedule to set us up for the most success at the Big Ten Championships, NCAA Midwest Regional, and NCAA Championships."
Miller's squad raises the curtain on September 6, making the trek west to DeKalb, Ill. for the Huskie Challenge. Back-to-back meets hosted by Big Ten Conference foes close the month, as the 'Cats visit Champaign, Ill. for the Big Ten Preview (Sept. 13) ahead of a trip north to Madison, Wis. for the prestigious Nuttycombe Invitational on September 27.
Northwestern begins the month of October close to home when it heads down Lake Shore Drive for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Harbor on October 4. The regular season concludes at the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 18) in Peoria, Ill.
The turn of the calendar to November signifies the start of postseason action, with the Big Ten Conference Championships slated for November 1 at the Orange and Blue Golf Course in Champaign, Ill.
Bradley University will play host to this season's NCAA Midwest Regional on November 15 in Peoria, Ill. before the scene shifts to Madison, Wis. for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 23.
