MILWAUKEE, Wis.  – No. 18 Northwestern notched two goals in the first five minutes and tacked on two more to run away with a 4-0 shutout win over Marquette on Thursday at Valley Fields.

Northwestern outshot the Golden Eagles 19-7 and held an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal. Josie Aulicino, Meg Boade, and Ella Hase notched a goal and an assist each.

How it Happened

Northwestern opened the scoring just forty seconds into the game when Holland Carey slotted a ball to Meg Boade, who beat the goalkeeper before passing to Ella Hase who slotted it home. 

The Wildcats added another score on a goal from Boade – on a shot from just outside the 18-yard box -- in the fourth minute.

Northwestern built its lead to 3-0 when Emma Phillips headed home a corner kick at the 15-minute mark. Josie Aulicino assisted on the goal.

The Wildcats extended the lead to 4-0 when Aulicino found the back of the net from long range for her 17th career goal. Hase registered an assist the goal.
