EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball will embark on a three-city foreign tour in Spain this August, the program announced Tuesday. The 'Cats will visit Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona between August 20-30.

"We are really excited to have the opportunity to take the team to Spain," said head coach Joe McKeown. "It will be a great experience to visit incredible cities and enjoy the culture and hospitality of the Spanish people. We are also excited to compete on the court, as we know Spain is one of the great basketball countries in the world."

The trip will include three games against local opponents, the first of which will be played in Madrid on Wednesday, August 23. The second game will be played on Saturday, August 26, in Valencia while the final of the three will be in Barcelona on Monday, August 28.

This August's trip will be the first foreign tour for women's basketball since 2016, when the team spent eight days in France.
