Seven Wildcats tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes

EVANSTON, Ill. (July 14, 2023) – For a ninth consecutive season, the Northwestern women's tennis team has earned All-Academic Team distinction from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the organization announced earlier in the week.

In addition to the team recognition, seven Wildcats took home ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, a group that includes Aino Alkio, Briana Crowley, Christina Hand, Justine Leong, Olga Lew-Kiedrowska, Sydney Pratt, and Kiley Rabjohns.  Alkio, Hand, Pratt, and Rabjohns each collected the second Scholar-Athlete nod of their respective careers.

The ITA All-Academic Team requires participating institutions must post a team grade-point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).  A total of 234 Division I women's tennis programs were honored.

In order to qualify for ITA Scholar-Athlete status, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.  For the 2022-23 season, 1,513 student-athletes secured the accolade.
