Northwestern Punches Ticket to NCAA Tournament for Third Year in a Row

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern has earned a berth in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament for the third consecutive year. The Wildcats will head to Lexington, Kentucky, where they will square off with UCLA at 9 a.m. CT at Boone Tennis Center.  
Kentucky and Presbyterian round out the Lexington Regional. The winners of the two first round matches will square off in the Regional Final. The winner of the Lexington Regional will advance to the Super Regional, with a trip to NCAA Championships in Lake Nona, Florida on the line.
 
Northwestern has advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament each of the past two years and will look to extend that streak to three years in a row when it takes on UCLA this weekend.
 
The Wildcats enter the NCAA Tournament on the heels of a 19-8 regular season, securing their most regular season wins since going 24-3 in the 2015-16 regular season. Northwestern's 9-2 Big Ten record is also its best since 2015-16, when it went 10-1 in league play. The 'Cats also earned a berth in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals for the third consecutive year, before falling to No. 7 Michigan.

Friday, May 5 –

Match One: Northwestern vs. UCLA – 9 a.m. CT

Match Two: No. 4 Kentucky vs. Presbyterian  –  12 p.m. CT

Saturday, May 6 –

Match Three: Winner of Match One vs. Winner of Match Two – 12 p.m. CT
