EVANSTON, Ill. - With Sunday's victory over Minnesota, Northwestern Head Coach Joe McKeown collected his 250th win at the helm of the women's basketball program. The win gives him 758 in his career as a DI head coach overall, making him the winningest active coach in Big Ten basketball.

McKeown's 250th win also puts him just one away from tying Don Perrelli's school-record 251 victories as a head basketball coach. Perrelli, who headed the program from 1984 to 1999, also holds the record for longest tenured Northwestern women's basketball coach, a record McKeown will tie at the end of this year, his 15th at NU.

In those 15 seasons, McKeown has led the 'Cats to a 250-216 overall record, including 104 conference victories and a win in the first round of the 2021 NCAA tournament. Under McKeown, the 'Cats have seen five WNIT appearances, including their 2019 finish as runners-up, and two NCAA tournament appearances. Along with Perrelli, McKeown is one of just two coaches to lead the program to a regular-season conference title, which he did in 2020.

After signing a contract extension in October of 2021, Coach McKeown is inked through the 2024-25 season, which would be his 17th in Evanston.
