Big Ten Announces Winter Academic All-Conference Honorees

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern had 61 student-athletes honored with Academic All-Big Ten distinction during their winter seasons, the conference announced on Thursday.

Graduate wrestler Yahya Thomas headlined the group as one of 22 Big Ten athletes to post an unblemished 4.0 GPA this winter.

To earn Academic All-Big Ten distinction, an athlete must be in at least their second year at the institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0-or-better. The Office of Academic Services & Student Development plays a key role in ensuring that the athletic department succeeds in its mission of helping student-athletes perform well on the field and in the classroom.
