COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Despite career nights from Paige Mott and Caroline Lau, Northwestern fell 84-54 to the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on the road Thursday.

The Wildcats (6-12, 0-8) had two players score in double figures, led by Mott, who had a career-high 16 points. Lau added 13 points off of the bench - a career high for her as well - and Sydney Wood contributed eight points.

How It Happened

Northwestern kept pace through the first half of the first quarter, but fell behind 19-9 by the end of the period.

The Wildcats continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 38-24 halftime deficit.

Northwestern's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Wildcats faced a 65-39 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter.

Ohio State kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing an 84-46 advantage. Northwestern went on an 8-0 run to finish the game, making it a final deficit of 84-54.
