Women's Swim Collects All-American Honors at NCAAs

Atlanta, GA - Northwestern Women's Swimming & Diving wrapped up a historic appearance at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, with six Wildcats named All-Americans and Honorable Mention All-Americans in Atlanta.
The Wildcats representing Northwestern included Emma Lepisova, Ally Larson, Ashley Strouse, Hannah Brunzell, Jasmine Hellmer, Justine Murdock, Lola Mull, Miriam Guevara, Sophie Angus, Maddie Smith, Markie Hopkins and Tara Vovk.
Northwestern finished 18th in the nation, with Mull (1650 Free) Angus (100 Breast) and Vovk (100 Breast) earning All-American honors.
Mull (500 Free) and Hopkins (Platform Diving) earned Honorable Mention All-American honors as individuals, while Vovk, Smith, Lepisova and Guevara (200 Medley) and Vovk, Smith, Guevara and Angus (400 Medley) were named Honorable Mention All-Americans as a relay team.

Wednesday Night:
Northwestern began their NCAA meet with an Honorable Mention performance in the 200 Medley Relay. Emma Lepisova, Tara Vovk, Miriam Guevara and Maddie Smith brought home the opening night honors, after the Northwestern 200 Medley team broke a school record at the Big Ten Championships in Madison with an NCAA A Cut performance to secure their spot.
Thursday Night:
Two nights, two All-Americans for the Wildcats, as Lola Mull brought Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 500 Free. Her 4:38.7 swim was good for a second-place finish in Friday's consolation final and smashed the school record Mull set at the Big Ten Championships in Madison.
Friday Night:
A busy Friday for the Wildcats in Atlanta began with a school record performance from Tara Vovk in the prelims of the 100 Breast. Her 58.01 swim punched Vovk's ticket to the event final on Friday night, as she and Sophie Angus both finished the morning session as Big Ten leaders in the event.
That night, Vovk and Angus both made history with a pair of All-American swims to finish 7th and 8th in the country in the 100 Breast, with Angus breaking that morning's school record by 00.01 seconds. Both swimmers earned the first All-American honors of their Northwestern career.
Saturday Night:
Lola Mull brought home yet another All-American honor back to Evanston, with a seventh-place finish in the 1650 Free - It caps off a historic March for Mull, who broke the 500 Free and 1650 Free school record en route to a second-place finish in both events at the Big Ten Championships.
In diving, Markie Hopkins secured All-American Honorable Mention honors in her NCAA debut in the platform diving competition.
