Wildcats Begin Road Trip at Purdue On Friday Night

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Women's Basketball is set to visit Purdue on Friday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. CT. at Mackey Arena. The game will be streamed on B1G+ and WNUR Sports.

The Wildcats are 11-8 overall and 3-5 in the Big Ten after falling to No. 23 Iowa, 72-67, in an overtime battle last Friday.

Leading the offense, Veronica Burton recorded 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Junior Laya Hartman had a career-high 14 points. Burton continues to lead the Big Ten in steals with an average of 3.9 per game. 

Melanie Daley tallied 13 points, including the game-tying shot that helped send the Cats' into overtime.

Meanwhile, Courtney Shaw had a notable defensive performance with 12 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. Shaw is third in the Big Ten for rebounding, averaging 9.8 per game.

Last Season, the Cats' topped the Boilermakers 70-54 with Burton firing up the Wildcats with a previous career-high 27 points. The Cats' converted 27 Purdue turnovers into 29 points.

Purdue is 13-8 overall and 4-6 in the Big Ten after a 81-66 loss to Nebraska. This will be Northwestern's first meeting with Purdue of the season after winning a matchup in each of the last two seasons.
