Led by Ademusayo's four offensive rebounds, Northwestern did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in nine second chance points. Ademusayo also led the 'Cats with three blocks.

Northwestern's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Wildcats faced a 73-43 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Northwestern took advantage of seven Notre Dame turnovers in the quarter, scoring six points off of takeaways.

Notre Dame kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 78-46 advantage before Northwestern went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Kaylah Rainey's layup, to shrink the deficit to 78-51 with 6:44 to go in the contest. Notre Dame responded and outscored the Wildcats the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 92-58.
