EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball received its 2021-22 Big Ten schedule on Wednesday afternoon from the conference.
The Wildcats open the conference schedule at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Dec. 5 when they welcome Wisconsin to Evanston. From Dec. 30 to Feb. 27, the 'Cats will play 17 conference games in a row featuring eight more home games.
The Wildcats will square off in high-profile home contests against fellow 2021 NCAA Tournament participants four times: Michigan State on Jan. 3, Iowa on Jan. 27, Rutgers on Feb. 10 and Michigan on Feb. 13.
The Iowa matchup features another battle between Northwestern's vaunted Blizzard Defense and sophomore phenom Caitlin Clark – the Wildcats swept the Hawkeyes last season and got the better of the national Freshman of the Year.
The Michigan game rekindles one of the Big Ten's fiercest rivalries over the past two seasons, as the clubs have split six matchups total, including two showdowns in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.
