EVANSTON, Ill- No. 21 Northwestern women's basketball was named the ESPNW Team of the Week this past week, following wins over No. 11 Ohio State and Michigan State.

The Wildcats took down Ohio State 69-57 on Monday behind a career-night from Veronica Burton. The junior posted her third-career double-double on 20 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, nine assists and four steals. The 'Cats dominated the glass with a season-high 46 rebounds and also set a season-high with nine blocks.

Burton's four steals against the Buckeyes moved her into second place in program history with 238 career steals. She was also named one of the six best perimeter defenders in the country by ESPN this past week, thanks in part to her 4.21 steals per game which leads all of Division I (min. five games played).

Northwestern pulled off a gritty road win over Michigan State on Sunday, by a score of 63-60. Lindsey Pulliam led the way for the Wildcats with a game-high 22 points and six rebounds. Burton chipped in 19 points of her own including a career-high 14 free throws.

With two wins last week, the Wildcats extend their win-streak to three games and have won seven of their last eight.

Set for this week is a battle against Rutgers on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT and a rematch at Ohio State on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. CT.
