Philadelphia, PA - Northwestern Fencing returned home from their first road trip of the season with a pair of top-five finishes at the Temple Open, as Sarah Filby and Sky Miller led the Wildcats against some of the top programs in the country.

Filby picked up three wins in pool play, before the sophomore cruised through direct elimination in the foil as the No. 17 seed, defeating Madeleine Nishimura of Cornell (15-8) and the No. 6 seed Talia Becker-Calazans (15-14) of Penn in the quarterfinals.

Miller built on her victory at this month's Remenyik Open with another impressive performance in the sabre, grabbing a top-five finish in Philadelphia. Miller defeated Hailey Lu of Penn (15-7) and Eva Ventura of Temple (15-10) in direct elimination.

The Wildcats are back in action at this weekend's October NAC in St. Louis and will be on the road until the end of November, when Northwestern hosts the NU Fall Duals at Patten Gymnasium on November 21 in Evanston.
