Compass to Care

Community Group of the Game Spotlight: Compass to Care

1/11/2021 2:38:00 PM | 'Cats Give Back

Supported by Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Athletics will spotlight a 'Community Group of the Game' during each week of a home or away basketball game.

At the Wildcats home game against Iowa, the athletic department recognizes Compass to Care, a Chicago-based charitable organization that supports families who have a child with cancer by covering costs related to travel including airfare, car rental, parking fees and lodging, to name a few.

Northwestern University Dance Marathon (NUDM) selected Compass to Care as its primary beneficiary for this year's event, which will be held March 5 to 7, 2021. NUDM is one of the largest independent student-run philanthropies in the country as it has raised more than $1 million for its beneficiaries in each of the past 10 years. All proceeds donated will enable Compass to Care to hire a full-time development officer, create a robust integrated marketing program and continue to support children who are ill for years to come. In addition to raising funds, Northwestern students will have the opportunity to participate in virtual on-campus service events. We encourage all Northwestern fans, alumni and community members to consider supporting Compass to Care by making a donation here.
