EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern women's tennis senior Julie Byrne was a unanimous selection to the 2019-20 Women's Tennis All-Big Ten Team, the Conference office announced Wednesday.
This marks the second straight All-Big Ten selection for Byrne. In the 2020 shortened dual season, Byrne played at the No. 1 singles position in every match and earned six victories with a pair of those wins coming against nationally-ranked opponents. The Dublin, Ireland, native was ranked No. 58 in the ITA's singles rankings when the season was canceled.
In doubles action, Byrne played with a trio of different partners and helped claim four doubles victories for NU. Byrne and teammate Hannah McColgan had a three-match winning streak at the conclusion of this spring.
McColgan earned Northwestern's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
