Divers Ready for NCAA Zone Qualifiers

LEXINGTON, KY -- The Northwestern Divers will head to the 2020 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships hosted by the University of Kentucky at the Lancaster Aquatic Center March 12-14.
Led by 2020 Big Ten Platform Champion Markie Hopkins, the Wildcats will send seven athletes to Lexington to compete in the Zone C Diving Champion. Along with Hopkins, the 'Cats will send four women including first-years Jaye Patrick, Leah Parsons and sophomore Labonita Ghose. On the men's side, NU will send all three divers including first-year Henry Schirmer and sophomores Evan Labuda and Yohan Eskrick-Parkinson.

From the Zone C qualifiers, there are 23 qualification spots for the women and 24 for the men for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
The Wildcats have already qualified 7 swimmers for the 2020 NCAA Championships with 7 women earning a nod from the NCAA.The 'Cats will be led by 2020 Big Ten Champion Calypso Sheridan who earned a bid in three events including the 200 IM, 400 IM and the 200 breast. NU will also take a trio of first-years including Ally Larson, Hannah Brunzell and Emma Lepisova. Sophomore Miriam Guevara earned her second consecutive invitation in both the 100 and 200 fly and will be joined by juniors Krystal Lara and Sophie Angus in the 100/200 back and 100/200 breast respectively. The NCAA is expected to announce the men's qualifiers later this week.
