EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern finished No. 11 in the final AP Top 25 Women's Basketball poll of the season, as announced by the AP on Tuesday.

The finish was Northwestern's best ever in the AP Poll in program history. The Wildcats made the largest jump of any program in the country, starting the season unranked, and climbing 14 spots to finish just outside of the top ten.

The 'Cats entered the rankings on Jan. 20 at No. 23 and have remained in the rankings since for nine straight weeks.

Before this season, the last time Northwestern was ranked as high as No. 11 was Jan, 5, 1992. This year marks the best final poll ranking since 1990, when Northwestern finished 13th after also winning a Big Ten Championship.

The Wildcats finished the season 26-4 ranked No. 11 in the RPI. They won the first Big Ten Championship in the regular season in 30 years and were slated to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament .
