'Cats Earn Spot in Semifinals of Big Ten Match Play

PALM COAST, Fla. - The Wildcats started their spring season strong after a successful day in the first day of Big Ten Match Play at Hammock Beach Resort.
Northwestern earned a bye and played a dual match against Purdue. NU came out on top in a battle with the Boilermakers, 3-2-1.
The 'Cats entered their quarterfinals match with Iowa with one win under their belt. The Wildcats took down the Hawkeyes in convincing fashion with a 4-1-1 score to earn a spot in the semifinals.
Senior Everton Hawkins, sophomore Yannick Artigolle and first year James Imai all defeated their opponents in both matches.
Northwestern will face off against Nebraska for a chance in the Championship Round against the winner of Penn State/Maryland. Teams are set to tee off at 7:00 AM CT. Brackets and live scoring can be found on Golfstat.
