Community Group of the Game Spotlight: Gale Community Academy

Supported by Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Athletics will spotlight a 'Community Group of the Game' during each week of a home or away basketball game.
During the upcoming men's basketball game versus Michigan, the athletic department recognizes Gale Community Academy, an elementary school located in Rogers Park within the Chicago Public School district.
This past fall quarter, 16 student-athletes mentored an 8th grade class at Gale. The purpose of the program was to provide support to students as they navigated the high school enrollment process. This was achieved by helping them identify their current and future interests and recognize how those interests can be applied to the selection process. Click here to read more. The hope is that this program laid a foundation for continued collaboration between our student-athletes and students at Gale.
