Community Group of the Game Spotlight: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital

Supported by Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Athletics will spotlight a 'Community Group of the Game' during each week of a home or away basketball game.
During this game's spotlight, the athletic department recognizes Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital, a nationally ranked pediatric acute care teaching hospital located in Chicago.
During pre-COVID times, every Friday before a home football game, student-athletes on the football team visited patients and families at the Panda Cares Center of Hope, a space in the hospital that serves as the main area for interacting activities, work spaces and rest areas. Student-athletes from all 19 varsity programs also had the opportunity to visit the Panda Cares Center every Wednesday evening. In keeping with this tradition, for the last nine months, student-athletes were provided opportunities to continue interacting with children and families through coordinated zoom calls.
