Welcoming Wildcats: Anna Morris

Get to know Anna Morris, one of our three first-year Wildcats! NUsports.com sat down for a Q and A with the forward from Mahwah, N.J.
Q: What was the best game you ever played and why was it your best game?
Anna Morris: That's a tough question. Probably one of my championship games, I probably played best in those games because there was some pressure and we really wanted to win. If I had to pick a single game I would say our state semi-final championship game this past year, it was also my last high school game.
Q: What made you choose Northwestern?
AM: The combination of athletics and academics. When I was looking for a school the two things at the top of my list were good academics but also to still play in a power five conference. Northwestern is in the Big Ten so there's a good combination of those two things here.
Q: How did you feel when the pandemic hit, were there any worries or doubts that you had?
AM: There's still some doubt. We don't really know what's going on. When it first happened they told us we weren't going to come in the summer but we ended up coming. There's definitely still some doubt but we're trying to take it one day at a time because it's out of our control.
Q: What are you most excited about for this upcoming season, besides just being able to play?
AM: I'm just excited to win. We work hard everyday and obviously the end goal is to win games and another Big Ten Championship. I'm just looking forward to that: having games, playing and getting wins.
Q: Is there anything you're nervous about?
AM: The unpredictability of everything happening throughout the season. You don't want to be the person to spread it [the virus], have to quarantine mid-season or have games canceled. It's something that's always going to be at the back of my mind and that's what I'm most worried about.
Q: What's the best thing about being a Wildcat?
AM: So far it's been the camaraderie between everyone. I feel like we all know what everyone is going through and everyone can relate to each other. It's good to have teammates and friends to lean on and hang out with, especially in these tougher times. Everyone's been really supportive.
Q: Who is your funniest teammate?
AM: Jordan Hamilton.
Q: Goofs off the most at practice?
AM: I'll say Paige because she's just a goofball.
Q: Has the best tik tok account?
AM: Me. Everyone better say me because that's kind of my thing around here.
