Community Group of the Game Spotlight: Youth & Opportunity United (Y.O.U.)

Supported by Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Athletics will spotlight a 'Community Group of the Game' during each week of a home football game.
In this week's spotlight, the athletic department recognizes Youth & Opportunity United (Y.O.U.), an Evanston-based youth development agency that provides academic, social and emotional support to youth and families. Through a myriad of support services, engagement programming and community outreach, Y.O.U. aims to fill the gap that separates youth from opportunity.
For several years, the athletic department has hosted children and families from Y.O.U. at both football and basketball games, as part of the Community Group of the Game initiative. Under normal circumstances, this initiative helps organizations in the community receive an exclusive game-day experience by providing groups with admission to the game, a meal voucher and airtime on the jumbotron as the featured group of the game. Student-athletes, coaches and administrators have also collaborated with Y.O.U. through athletic facility tours and summer camp programming.
